About the project
We helped Jason complete a full renovation of his first NYC apartment: bedroom, living room, hallway, closets, kitchen and bathroom. He wanted the apartment to feel like his own with a modern style and fresh look. As a first time home buyer, Jason had a modest budget but we made it work through financing options. Anna, the project planner, met with Jason to learn about his vision, ideal timeline and budget. She understood the goal was to modernize the entire apartment while improving functionality
Every renovation project starts with the planning phase led by the project planners. At the at-home visit, Anna captured a 360 tour of the junior 1 bedroom apartment to get accurate measurements and fast-track the project. She advised Jason to complete the renovation all at once since it would mean cost savings on permits and the construction process overall.
The design challenge was to deliver an upscale aesthetic for the entire apartment at a feasible price. Jason wanted to personalize his space but also focus on driving the resale value up. The designers worked on several layouts and design visualizations so he had options. Finally, Jason picked his favorite layouts and felt confident about the design.
Once the permits were filed and approved, the full apartment renovation began. In a matter of eleven weeks, Jason had a new junior one bedroom that fit his style and increased his home value for future resale.
